Aruna Stannard

Aruna Stannard is an East Anglian poet: born in Essex, she now lives in Suffolk. With a background in healthcare, she has long believed in the importance of stories for wellbeing. Her poetry is rooted in the landscapes and experiences of everyday life. She was an environmental writer-in-residence with Suffolk Community Libraries, Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the National Centre for Writing. She is currently studying on the Critical and Creative Writing MA programme with the University of Suffolk where her sonnets about the Ipswich waterfront won the 2026 Student New Angle Prize.
